The Vice President is responsible for managing all aspects (Relationship, Profitability, Sales and Service) of multiple National Accounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for maintenance and new growth opportunities within Accounts including high level negotiation with national account principal contacts (Product Lines, Tech, Service, Off Shoring, etc…)
Increase strength in relationships with current national accounts including senior principals and all sales and support hierarchy
Manage P & L / Contribution margin by National account
Responsible for Managing Sales and Sales Support associates
Develop National Account business plan with sales associates
Attract, interview, hire, train, develop and retain quality sales associates
Assist associates in cross-selling and driving business through National Accounts
Define specific set of processes for managing priority business
Identify individual selling skills, product knowledge deficiencies, skill gaps, and provide appropriate level of training and coaching
Develop, implement, and drive an effective lead generation/referral program
Quarterly on-site account reviews with account relationship managers

Commercial P&C Producer. Bakersfield / Fresno, CA.

A large regional broker client, who’s current thrust is on the health benefits side, but has almost all of the commercial P&C markets that you would want/need, has addition to staff opportunities in commercial.
This client wants your soft sell experience versus hard-sell (get to know your referred customers first -- then conclude the sale).
They have an endorsement from a 3000 member association... so the entre is not difficult, but you may not necessarily get sales success on day 1 (thus—“soft sell” and a good degree of follow-up / perseverance). The client understands there may be a lag on success.

From a background standpoint, you’ll obviously need to have a good degree of having met clients on a regular basis, and be able to demonstrate a high-level of success.
You’ll also need very strong skills / academics in the commercial Fire, GL, Auto area (WC preferred also, but not required).
Client has a pension plan that starts funding on year 2 and above average health benefits.
Salary $50k + commission + bonus.

The client would like you to have a following of $300k or more in revenue and will purchase your book if necessary.
You’ll receive a 37 ½% commission split and a 60% book ownership that is vested over time.
