As Emiily Post might ask: "How is your etiquette these days?"

I ran across this short article on Twitter etiquette, and I thought it might be of use to members of this study group. "A Brief and Informal Twitter Etiquette Guide" http://bit.ly/DqlYW

Looking forward to the webinar. At the risk of cliche, many agencies put the cart before the horse when it comes to social media. Without clear objectives and rules for how employees should engage, it can be a fruitless effort, or worse, damage the reputation of an agency if responses are not timely and people share information they shouldn't. Kudos to ACT and the IIABA for creating awareness and hosting this webinar.

Future sessions on metrics and gauging the ROI of social media, specific to insurance, would also be helpful.

There are two remarkable (in that their message is so timely and concise) videos posted on Insurance Campus that relate to our groups Social Media theme.

One is 2 minutes and the other is 4 minutes.

If you invest 6 minutes and watch these videos you will find they are more than worth the effort.

The titles of the two videos are: “The Break Up” and “Social Media Revolution.”

Creating a Social Web Policy for Your Independent Agency (now available from the Agents Council for Technology)

This new ACT resource will assist you in developing the social web policy for your employees' permissible use of social media for business purposes, so that you protect your agency and maintain the productivity of your employees. The report contains a checklist of key steps to take in developing and implementing such a policy, samples of the policies being employed by some prominent companies, examples of possible provisions to include, and suggestions for a social web code of conduct for your employees.
