How to “Get Started” at Insurance Campus.org
Insurance Campus.org now has over 1500 members from 17 countries and I want to personally thank you for your interest. The medium is new to us and we are going through a bit of a learning curve on how to make this a tremendous networking and communication tool for everyone. We have started a “Tips for using Insurance Campus.org” help list that you can access by clicking the “forum” icon at the top of the page and select the “Tips for using Insurance Campus.org” that includes:
Every Tuesday is “Make A Friend Tuesday” at Insurance Campus!
Privacy & How To Send A Private Message To Another Member Of Insurance Campus.org
How to play external songs and podcasts on your page
What 16 countries have one or more members at Insurance Campus.org?
How to change the “theme” on your home page
How to “Get Started” at Insurance Campus.org
What is the URL of my Insurance Campus.org Home Page
How to Upload Your Image / What to do if your picture is not displaying properly
Using the search bar
Starting a Forum Discussion
Starting your own Group
Adding a Photo to your page.
We will try not to broadcast too many messages to the entire group, but we wanted to let you know where to start for assistance. The “power” of this site is the user-generated nature of the content and we look forward to see how the members control it.

The best way to get started may be to use the search bar located in the upper right corner. Type in a keyword(s) area of interest and everything related to that topic will be listed for you. That is why it is to your advantage to have your profile filled in as much as possible – this is how other people find you.
This community has over 1,500 members. That is good; having people to network with and share information with is why it was started, As the site grows, however, it becomes more challenging to find those people that you have the most affinity with - the people you really want to meet that can be of value in your business and have thoughts and ideas that relate to your interests.
So another way to get started is to either join a group, start a group, or post a comment in a group you are already a member of. As the site evolves I believe the groups you join and engage with are where you may find the most value from participation.

Every Tuesday is “Make A Friend Tuesday” at Insurance Campus.org
We want Insurance Campus to be a place where you can increase your network of contacts and help provide access to information.
“At the end of a year, if you do nothing but make one new relationship each Tuesday, you will expand your network by 52 insurance professionals, and by the multiple of all their business relationship contacts as well.
“By establishing Tuesdays as Make A Friend day, it reduces some of the reluctance to reach out to somebody where there has been no previous introduction. If nothing else, there is the common affinity of being a member of Insurance Campus.org.” Of course you don’t have to wait until Tuesdays to reach out and make new friends with someone you don’t know.

Sample Friend Invitation:
I see that you have a page on Insurance Campus and I wanted to invite you to be part of my network.

Here is some information about privacy and sending private messages.
No information appears on any member’s page, except what they put there and the e-mail address used to register is never shown.
If a person wants to send a private message to another member, there is a send a message icon in the left column right next to the envelope icon. This will send a private e-mail to the other member, but does not reveal the actual e-mail address it is being sent to.

Social Media is new to most of us, and there is no rush, but I do encourage you to make a friend today, and update your profile today, and join a group today.
Insurance Campus is about networking and expanding your circle of business relationships. Reach out today and ask somebody to be in your network, it may result long-term in new business relationships, new avenues for growth and revenues and career options.
Let’s take the advice of Napoleon Hill who said: “It is always your next move.”

Why are so many members’ photos cropped at the top? Because the software defaults to a square photo and is programmed to crop the top if a rectangular photo is uploaded. You can upload a new photo if your existing photo isn’t what you want, or you can e-mail your rectangular photo to Michael@insurancebroadcasting.com, and Mike will crop it correctly and e-mail it back to you for you to upload.
+++
Did you know that your Insurance Campus has it own URL that you can give to others? You can see what it is by clicking on the “My Page” icon when you log in to Insurance Campus and look in the browser bar at the top of the page. For example, my URL is http://www.insurancecampus.org/profile/WaltPodgurski. You can also put your Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook URL on your page to make it easy for people to find you at other social media sites.

We are working to make Insurance Campus.org the largest insurance networking site on the Internet and a valuable networking tool for each member. It may take a short time to completely populate the site applications and groups, but we think you will see the vision and potential of the site immediately.
Let us know if we can be of any assistance.
